History Up Close, who are we and why we should visit your school...

Formed in the year 2000, History Up Close works in over 100 schools across Melbourne and regional Victoria and interstate. We are a group of dedicated qualified teachers, actors, living-historians, musicians and western martial artists whose skills and knowledge span many disciplines.

We aim to share our passion and enthusiasm for history via an interactive and educational approach, whether it be at schools, libraries, Public events or functions.

To ensure maximum impact, all History Up Close activities have been created by postgraduate trained teachers and historical specialist. Presenters reinforce critical and creative thinking, personal and social capability as well as ethical and intercultural understandings. All our activities reinforce learning within the Australian History Curriculum v7.5.

We require the presence of a teacher during all our activities, and encourage teachers to participate with the students in the activities if they wish. More information is available.

What happens if it rains?
No worries. Most activities can be run to an alternate wet weather programme. If one of the activities you book with us is weather dependant, we will suggest a backup plan at the time of booking.
